Wild pigs. Warthogs belong to the pig family and live across the grasslands and dry areas of Africa south of the Sahara Desert.

Two kinds. There are two species: the common warthog and the desert warthog. They were once thought to be the same animal!

Tough survivors. Warthogs can live in very dry, arid places where many animals would struggle to find food and water.

Funny 'warts'. The bumps on their faces aren't really warts at all, they're thick pads of skin that help protect them.
