Cool facts
Shipwreck separates twins. Viola and Sebastian are twins who get split up in a terrible storm at sea. Neither knows the other survived, which sets up all the confusion that follows.
Viola disguises herself. Washed ashore, Viola pretends to be a man named Cesario to survive in a new land. No one recognizes her as a woman, which leads to all sorts of mix-ups.
Love triangles everywhere. The Duke Orsino loves Countess Olivia, but Olivia falls for Viola (who is dressed as a man), and Viola secretly loves Orsino. Everyone is chasing the wrong person.
Confusion leads to laughs. When Sebastian shows up looking exactly like his twin sister in disguise, people think Cesario has gone mad or can be in two places at once. The mix-ups get wilder and wilder.
Everyone ends up happy. By the end, the twins are reunited, true identities are revealed, and the couples sort themselves out into real pairs. It all works out in typical Shakespeare comedy style.
