Cool facts
Upside-down life. Tree sloths spend most of their lives hanging upside down in the trees of the tropical rainforests of Central and South America.
Super slow. Sloths are famous for moving incredibly slowly, which helps them stay hidden from animals that might want to eat them.
Anteater cousins. Sloths are most closely related to anteaters, and together they form a group of mammals called Pilosa.
Giant relatives. Long ago there were enormous ground sloths that lived on the ground instead of in trees, but they are now extinct.
