Famous redbreast. In Britain it's called the robin redbreast because of the orange-red color splashed across its chest and face.
Bug eater. Robins are insectivores, which means they love munching on insects, worms, and other little creatures.
Big range. They live all across Europe, as far east as Western Siberia and as far south as North Africa.
Some travel, some stay. Robins in the warmer west and south stay put all year, while those in the colder north and east fly away to escape harsh winters.
Flycatcher family. It belongs to the Old World flycatcher family, making it a small but mighty member of the passerine, or perching, birds.
