Biggest on land. Elephants are the largest living land animals, towering above almost every other creature that walks the Earth.

Amazing trunk. An elephant's trunk can grab food and water, lift objects, and bring them right up to its mouth, like a hand and nose combined.

Tusks are teeth. Tusks are actually overgrown incisor teeth, and elephants use them as tools for digging and moving things.

Built-in fans. Their big ear flaps help keep their body cool and are also used to communicate with other elephants.

Three kinds. There are three species: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant, and the Asian elephant, which has smaller ears.
