Ten legs total. Lobsters are decapods, which means "ten feet." Three of their five pairs of legs have claws, and the front pair is usually much bigger than the rest.
Hidden homes. Lobsters live on the sea floor, tucking themselves into rocky crevices and burrows to stay safe and hidden.
Muscular tail. A lobster's long body ends in a strong, muscular tail that it can flick to shoot backward quickly when it needs to escape.
Prized seafood. People love lobster as food, making it one of the most valuable catches in many coastal towns.
