Spots and rosettes. Jaguars have pale yellow to tan fur covered in spots that turn into ring-shaped rosettes along their sides. Some jaguars are even all black!

Big and strong. They can grow up to 1.85 meters long and weigh as much as 158 kilograms, making them the biggest cats in the Americas and the third largest in the world.

Super powerful bite. A jaguar's bite is so strong it can crack right through the hard shells of turtles and tortoises.

Only American Panthera. The jaguar is the only member of the big cat genus Panthera that naturally lives in the Americas.
