Cool facts
Perfectly Organized Atoms. A crystal is made of atoms or molecules arranged in an extremely neat, repeating pattern, like the ultimate game of 3D checkers that goes on and on in every direction. This organized structure is what gives crystals their special properties and makes them so unique.

Flat Faces & Angles. When a crystal grows big enough, you can see its beautiful shape: flat faces and straight edges that meet at specific angles. Each type of crystal has its own signature shape, salt crystals look like cubes, while snowflakes look like six-pointed stars.
Crystallography Science. Scientists who study crystals are called crystallographers, and they use special tools to understand how atoms are arranged inside. Learning about crystals helps them discover new materials and understand how things work at the tiniest scales.
Growing Crystals. Crystals form through a process called crystallization, where atoms slowly settle into their perfect positions as something cools down or water evaporates. You can even grow crystals at home with salt, sugar, or special crystal-growing kits!
Found Everywhere. Crystals aren't just in jewelry, you'll find them in salt shakers, snowflakes, rocks, sand, and even in the metal tools in your kitchen. Basically, anything that's solid and organized is probably made of crystals.
