Brachiosaurus

Built like a giraffe. Unlike most dinosaurs, Brachiosaurus had longer front legs than back legs, so its body sloped upward and its long neck reached high into the trees.

Truly enormous. It stretched between 18 and 22 meters long and weighed as much as dozens of cars combined.

Arm lizard. Its name is Greek for 'arm lizard,' chosen because of its surprisingly long front arms.

Late Jurassic giant. It lived in North America about 145 to 156 million years ago and was first described in 1903.

Found in Colorado. Paleontologist Elmer Riggs discovered its fossils in the Colorado River valley in western Colorado.
