Earth's twin. Venus is almost the same size and weight as Earth, which is why it's sometimes called Earth's twin planet.
Super scorching. Its surface reaches about 737 Kelvin (around 464°C), hot enough to melt lead, making it the hottest planet in our Solar System.
Acid clouds. Venus is wrapped in thick clouds made of sulfuric acid, covering the entire planet.
Crushing air. The atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide and presses down 92 times harder than Earth's air at sea level.
Brightest light. From Earth, Venus shines brighter than any other star-like point, appearing as the 'morning star' or 'evening star'.
