Blue Whale

Biggest ever. The blue whale is the largest animal known to have ever existed, beating even the dinosaurs. It can stretch up to about 30 meters (100 feet) long.

Super heavy. A blue whale can weigh up to 190 to 200 tonnes, which is heavier than dozens of cars stacked together.

Baleen feeder. It belongs to the rorqual family of baleen whales, using special comb-like plates instead of teeth to filter food from the water.

Bluish color. Its long, slender body is greyish-blue on top and lighter underneath, which is how it got its name.

Found worldwide. There are four recognized subspecies living in oceans from the North Atlantic to the Southern Ocean and Indian Ocean.
