Water Buffalo

Born in Asia. Water buffalo originally came from the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, descended from the wild water buffalo.

Two main types. There's the river buffalo, found from India to Italy, and the swamp buffalo, found from Assam all the way to China's Yangtze Valley.

World traveler. Today they live far beyond Asia, including Italy, the Balkans, Australia, the Americas, and parts of Africa.

Helpful friend. As a domesticated bovine, the water buffalo has been raised by people for a very long time to help on farms.
