Swapping stuff works. Trade doesn't always need money, people can swap things directly, like trading a bicycle for a skateboard. But using money makes it way easier because everyone agrees it has value.

Ancient traders traveled far. Thousands of years ago, merchants traveled along routes like the Silk Road, carrying spices, silk, and jewels across continents. These trade routes connected entire civilizations and changed the world.

Markets make trade happen. A market is any place, physical or online, where buyers and sellers meet to exchange things. Farmers markets, stores, and websites are all markets that let trade happen smoothly.

Everyone benefits. When you buy lunch, the restaurant gets money and you get food you want. Both sides get something they value, which is why trade has been around since ancient times.

Supply and demand matters. When something is hard to find, people pay more for it. When lots of something exists, the price drops. This balance keeps trade fair and interesting.
