First Electronic Exchange. Nasdaq was the first stock exchange to do all its trading on computers instead of with people shouting on a trading floor. This made buying and selling stocks faster and easier.

Second Largest Market. Only the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is bigger than Nasdaq when you count the total value of all the companies traded there. But Nasdaq trades a huge amount of stocks every single day.

Located in Manhattan. Nasdaq is based right in New York City, one of the world's biggest money centers. It's where traders and financial companies work to buy and sell shares of companies.

Home to Tech Giants. Nasdaq is famous for listing technology companies like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Tesla. If you've heard of a cool tech company, there's a good chance you can buy or sell its stock on Nasdaq.
