Played on a table. Unlike regular tennis played on a court, table tennis happens on top of a stationary table with a net dividing the two sides. Players hit a light, hollow ball back and forth until someone misses.

Lightning-fast reflexes. Table tennis is one of the speediest sports around, demanding quick reactions and constant attention. Players must stay super focused because the ball moves so quickly across the table.

Spin is everything. The spin of the ball matters way more in table tennis than in most other sports. Players use clever spin techniques to change how the ball bounces and moves, making it tricky for opponents to return.

Play solo or in pairs. You can play table tennis as a single player against one opponent, or you can team up with a partner to play doubles. Either way, players take turns hitting the ball back and forth.

Small paddles, big skill. Table tennis players use small rackets called paddles to hit the ball. Even though the paddles and table are small, it takes amazing hand-eye coordination and skill to play well.
