Bottom of Africa. South Africa is the southernmost country on the African continent, with two oceans, the Atlantic and the Indian, meeting along its long coastline.
Three capitals. Most countries have one capital, but South Africa has three: Pretoria, Cape Town, and Bloemfontein, each with a different job.
A country inside. South Africa completely surrounds another whole country called Lesotho, like a doughnut around its hole.
Lots of people. More than 63 million people live there, making it the sixth-most populated country in all of Africa.
Big cities. Johannesburg is the largest and busiest city, followed by Cape Town and Durban.
