Thousands of species. There are many different kinds of seaweed living in oceans all around the world, and they come in three main colors: red, brown, and green.
Nursery for baby fish. Seaweed forests are like underwater apartment buildings where young fish and other sea creatures can hide from predators and find food to eat.
Makes half our oxygen. Seaweed and other ocean algae produce at least half of all the oxygen we breathe on Earth, which is way more than trees on land.
Carbon capturing power. Seaweed absorbs carbon from the ocean and atmosphere, helping to keep our planet from getting too warm.
