Super sabers. This group of cats is famous for their long, blade-like canine teeth, which is why people often call them saber-toothed cats.

Real cat family. They belonged to Felidae, the same family as lions, tigers, and your pet cat at home.

Earliest branch. Machairodontinae was the very first major branch to split off in the cat family tree, making them ancient relatives of today's cats.

All gone now. This whole subfamily is extinct, so no saber-toothed cats roam the Earth anymore.
