Cool facts
What is payment?. Payment happens when one person gives money or something valuable to another person. This could be trading coins for candy at a store, paying for a haircut, or giving money to help people in need.
Payers and payees. The person who gives the money is called the payer, and the person who receives it is called the payee. You're a payer when you buy lunch at school, and the cafeteria worker is the payee.
Voluntary or required. Most payments happen because people choose to, like buying a toy or paying for a movie ticket. But some payments are mandatory, meaning you have to make them, like a fine if you break a rule or school fee.
Payment for good causes. Payment isn't just for buying things. People also make payments called donations to help charities, build hospitals, or support causes they care about.
Settling obligations. When you owe someone something, like money from a debt or a legal requirement, making a payment means you're fulfilling that responsibility and making things square.
