Son of Zeus. Heracles was the son of Zeus, the king of the Greek gods, and a human mother named Alcmene. That made him a half-god hero!

A different first name. He was actually born with the name Alcaeus or Alcides. The famous name 'Heracles' came later.

Legendary strength. Heracles was a 'divine hero,' known throughout Greek mythology for his amazing power and brave deeds.

Royal family tree. He was a descendant of Perseus, another hero who was also a son of Zeus.

Two dads. Besides his divine father Zeus, he had a foster father named Amphitryon who helped raise him.
