Curved beak power. Parrots have a strong, hooked beak, an upright stance, and clawed feet perfect for climbing and cracking open seeds and nuts.

Tropical homes. There are about 410 species of parrots, found mostly in warm tropical and subtropical places like South America and Australasia.

Four families. Parrots are split into four families, including the Cacatuidae, which are the cockatoos with their fancy crests.

Need our help. Sadly, one-third of all parrot species are at risk of extinction, more than any other similar group of birds.
