Cubism co-founder. Picasso helped create Cubism, an art style that shows objects from many angles at once, so a face might show both eyes on the same side!

Collage inventor. He helped invent collage, where artists glue bits of paper, fabric, and other materials onto their artworks.

Painting against war. His huge painting 'Guernica' (1937) shows the horror of a town being bombed, becoming one of the most famous anti-war artworks ever.

Spanish in France. Picasso was born in Spain but spent most of his adult life in France, where he made much of his famous art.

A long career. His art career lasted more than 76 years, from his late teens until he died in 1973, exploring many different styles.
