Biggest deer ever. The moose is the world's tallest, largest and heaviest type of deer alive today. It's the only species in its group, called Alces.

Forest giant. In North America, only the American bison weighs more on land. The moose stands taller than almost any other animal there!

Hand-shaped antlers. Most male moose grow broad, flat antlers called palmate antlers, shaped like open hands. Other deer have pointy, twig-like antlers instead.

Cool-weather lover. Moose live in the chilly northern forests of the world, doing great in cool, temperate, and even subarctic climates.
