Arena entertainers. Gladiators fought in front of cheering Roman crowds, sometimes against each other and sometimes against wild animals. It was a bit like a sports show, but very dangerous.

Some chose to fight. While most gladiators were enslaved people, a few were volunteers who risked everything for the chance at fame and glory in the arena.

Tough training schools. Gladiators learned to fight in special schools under very harsh conditions, practicing hard to survive their battles.

Roman times. Gladiators were popular during both the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire, thousands of years ago.
