Cool facts
Curved Sticks. Players use special curved sticks called hockey sticks to control and hit a small, hard ball. The curved shape helps players pass, receive, and shoot the ball with precision.
Small Hard Ball. Unlike soccer, field hockey uses a small, hard ball instead of a soft one. This hard ball travels fast and lets players make quick, accurate passes across the field.
Eleven Per Side. Each team has exactly eleven players on the field working together to move the ball toward the opponent's goal. Good teamwork and communication are essential to winning matches.
Shooting Circle. Before a team can score, they must maneuver the ball into a special area called the shooting circle near the opponent's goal. Only from this circle can players legally shoot the ball into the goal to score a point.
Most Goals Wins. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match is declared the winner. Field hockey matches are exciting because goals can change the outcome in seconds.
