Many shapes. Ball games use all kinds of balls: round ones like soccer balls, oval ones like footballs, small hard ones like baseballs, and even bouncy ones like basketballs. Each shape is designed to work best for that particular game.

Ancient invention. People have been playing with balls for thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians played ball games, and the Aztecs in Mexico had a famous ball game called Ullamaliztli that was super important to their culture.

Games everywhere. Almost every culture around the world invented their own ball games. From cricket in India to hurling in Ireland to Australian Rules Football, ball games connect people across the globe.

Points and winning. Most ball games are about moving a ball into a specific spot, like a goal, basket, or hole, to earn points. The team or player with the most points at the end wins the game.

Team and solo. Some ball games like basketball and soccer need whole teams working together, while others like tennis and golf are one-on-one competitions or individual challenges.
