Two big teams. Cricket is played between two teams of eleven players each on a large field.
The 22-yard pitch. In the center is a strip called the pitch, with a wicket made of three stumps and two little bails at each end.
Bowler vs batter. The bowler throws the ball toward the striker's wicket, and the striker tries to whack it away with the bat.
Running for runs. After hitting the ball, the two batters swap places, and each swap scores their team one run.
Reaching the edge. Runs are also scored when the ball rolls or flies all the way to the boundary of the field.
