Really, really big. Argentina is the second-largest country in South America and the eighth-largest in the whole world, covering about 2.7 million square kilometers.

Capital city. Buenos Aires is both the capital and the largest city, and it's an autonomous city with its own constitution.

Many neighbors. It borders Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, and Uruguay, with the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the icy Drake Passage to the south.

Provinces galore. Argentina is a federal state made up of 23 provinces plus the capital, and each province has its very own constitution.

Reaching for Antarctica. Argentina claims sovereignty over far-southern lands including part of Antarctica and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.
