Super fast artist. In just over ten years, van Gogh made about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings. Most of them came in the last two years of his life!

Bold and bright. He loved using bright, daring colors and thick, swirling brushstrokes that almost seem to move on the canvas.

Many subjects. He painted landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and lots of self-portraits of his own face.

Famous after death. Van Gogh was poor and not well-known while alive, but today he's one of the most famous and influential artists ever.
