Rice is everything. The most important part of sushi isn't the fish, it's the rice! Sushi rice is cooked rice mixed with vinegar, sugar, and salt to give it a tangy, slightly sweet flavor that makes it special.
Many styles exist. Sushi comes in lots of different styles and presentations. Some rolls are wrapped in seaweed, some are served as nigiri (rice topped with fish), and some are arranged in beautiful boats or boxes.
Raw or cooked. While raw seafood is the most popular sushi filling, not all sushi has raw fish. Many rolls use cooked fish, vegetables, or meat, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Made in Japan. Sushi is a traditional Japanese dish with hundreds of years of history. Japanese chefs spent years learning how to make the perfect sushi rice and roll it just right.
