Built for space. A spacecraft is a vehicle designed to fly and operate in outer space, far beyond where airplanes can go.

Many jobs. They help with communications, watching Earth's weather, navigation, and exploring other planets.

People and cargo. Some spacecraft are made to carry humans and supplies into space and bring them back safely.

Need a boost. Most spacecraft can't reach space alone, they ride on a powerful launch vehicle, or rocket, to get there.
