Mostly down south. South America sits entirely in the Western Hemisphere and mostly in the Southern Hemisphere, with just a little bit poking into the Northern Hemisphere.

Home of the Amazon. The huge Amazon rainforest covers much of the continent and is bursting with more kinds of plants and animals than almost anywhere on Earth.

The long Andes. The Andes Mountains run all the way down the western edge, making them the longest mountain range above ground in the world.

Mighty river. The Amazon River carries more water than any other river on the planet, winding across the continent like a giant blue ribbon.
