The Beautiful Game. Association football, or soccer as some call it, is played by more than 250 million people across the planet. It's the most beloved sport in the world because almost anyone can pick up a ball and start playing.

Feet Do the Work. Players use their feet, legs, chest, and head to control the ball, but they almost never use their hands. Only the goalkeeper is allowed to catch and throw the ball with their hands.

Two Teams Score. Each team has 11 players trying to kick the ball into the opposing team's goal to score points. The team with the most goals after 90 minutes of play wins the match.

The Playing Field. A football match happens on a rectangular grass or artificial pitch with a goal at each end. Players have boundaries they must stay within, and the referee makes sure everyone follows the rules.

Played Everywhere. From tiny villages to enormous stadiums, people play association football on every continent. It brings communities together and creates fans who cheer passionately for their favorite teams.
