Top of the world. Mount Everest is the highest mountain on Earth above sea level, standing a whopping 8,848.86 meters tall.

On the border. Its summit sits right on the border between China and Nepal, in the Himalaya mountain range.

Measured again. In 2020, surveyors from Nepal and China worked together to measure Everest's exact height.

Part of a family. Everest belongs to a section of the Himalayas called the Mahalangur Himal sub-range.
