Biggest waterfall system. Iguazu Falls is the largest waterfall system in the entire world, made up of many separate waterfalls that work together.

Straddles two countries. The falls sit on the border between Argentina and Brazil, with most of the dramatic drops actually on the Argentine side.

Splits the river in two. The Iguazu River flows as one river until it reaches the falls, where the water divides into an upper and lower section.

Starts near a city. The Iguazu River begins its journey near Curitiba, a major city in Brazil, and travels for many miles before reaching the falls.

Marks a border. Below where another river joins it, the Iguazu River becomes the official boundary line separating Argentina and Brazil.
