Ancient chariot power. Around 2500 BC, the Sumerians used horses to pull wagons into battle. This was one of the first ways people used horses as weapons of war.
Training like a pro. By 1350 BC, people had written down detailed instructions on how to train war horses. This shows that horse training was taken seriously, just like how athletes train today.
Better gear, better warriors. Inventions like the saddle, stirrup, and horse collar changed everything about how people fought on horseback. These tools made it easier for soldiers to ride horses and fight at the same time.
From chariots to cavalry. Chariot warfare was huge around 1600 BC, but eventually soldiers stopped using chariots and rode horses directly. By 360 BC, a Greek officer named Xenophon wrote a famous book about how to be an amazing horseback rider.
