Founded by Henry Ford. Henry Ford started Ford Motor Company in 1903 and invented the assembly line, which let workers build cars faster and cheaper than ever before.

Based in Michigan. Ford's main headquarters is in Dearborn, Michigan, and the company has been making cars there and around the world for over 120 years.

Family-owned business. Even though Ford is a huge public company traded on the stock market, the Ford family still controls it and makes big decisions about the company's future.
