Lots of Names. Female cattle are cows, males are bulls, and babies are calves. Young females are called heifers!

Grass Lovers. Cattle are domesticated animals kept as livestock all around the world, and they spend much of their day grazing on grass.

Strong Helpers. Castrated males are called steers or oxen, and oxen have long been used to pull carts and plows.

Big Bovine Family. Cattle belong to the genus Bos and are the most widespread members of their group, related to bison and buffalo.
