Cool facts
Many roles, one goal. A video game developer can be just one person doing everything, or a whole company with programmers writing code, artists drawing characters, and designers planning the fun parts.
Publishers help out. Most game companies get money and marketing help from publishers so they can focus on making amazing games instead of worrying about paying the bills.
Indie developers rule. Some developers fund their own games without a publisher's help, these are called indie developers, and they often make creative games that big companies might never try.
It takes a team. Modern game development splits the work between specialists: some people code the game engine, others design levels, some create art, and others make music and sound effects.
