A young king. Tutankhamun became pharaoh of Egypt while still a child and ruled around 1332 to 1323 BC during the famous Eighteenth Dynasty.
Bringing back the gods. He helped restore Egypt's traditional religion with many gods, undoing an earlier change that focused on just one sun god called the Aten.
A new name. He was born 'Tutankhaten,' but his name was changed to Tutankhamun to honor the god Amun.
A great restorer. His reign is remembered as one of ancient Egypt's greatest periods of rebuilding temples and honoring the old gods.
