Cool facts
Three-horned face. Its name means 'three-horned face' in Ancient Greek. It had two big horns above its eyes and one shorter horn on its nose.
One of the last. Triceratops lived about 68 to 66 million years ago and was one of the last non-bird dinosaurs before the great extinction event.
Bony frill. It had a huge bony frill around the back of its head, which may have helped protect it or show off to other dinosaurs.
Plant muncher. Triceratops was a plant-eater that lived in what is now western North America, then an island continent called Laramidia.
