Pictures plus sound. Television sends both moving images and sound through the air or cables, so you can see and hear shows at the same time.

Many uses. People use TV for entertainment, news, sports, and advertising, making it a powerful mass medium.

The set itself. The word 'television' can mean both the way shows are sent and the actual physical box you watch them on.
