Cool facts
Sunlight to power. Solar panels catch sunlight and turn it into electricity. No fuel, no smoke, just light doing the work!
Excited electrons. The special cells, called photovoltaic cells, make tiny electrons jump around when light hits them. Those moving electrons become an electric current.
Save it for later. The electricity can power gadgets right away or get stored in batteries for when the sun isn't shining.
Made of modules. A panel is built from many small solar cells grouped into modules, all working together to make more power.
