Knowing yourself. Self-awareness means you can look at your own personality, feelings, and behaviors and actually understand them. It's like having a mirror for your mind that shows you what you're thinking and feeling.
More than just thinking. Being conscious means you notice your body and the world around you, but self-awareness is special because you can also notice that you're noticing. It's thinking about your own thinking.
Understanding your character. When you're self-aware, you recognize your own strengths, weaknesses, and what makes you unique. You understand what you want, why you want it, and how your actions affect other people.
Different types exist. Self-awareness comes in different flavors. You might be aware of your own thoughts and feelings, or aware of how you act around other people and what they think of you.
