Street celebration. A parade is when lots of people walk or ride down a street together in an organized line, often dressed up in cool costumes or uniforms. It's a way for communities to come together and have fun.

Music and sound. Marching bands play instruments like trumpets, drums, and tubas while walking in parades to create exciting music and keep everyone moving together in rhythm.

Giant balloons float. Some parades feature enormous character balloons that are taller than buildings and bob above the streets, held down by teams of people on the ground.

Floats roll by. Floats are fancy vehicles or platforms decorated with bright colors, lights, and decorations that slowly roll down the street during a parade.

Many reasons to parade. People hold parades for all sorts of celebrations, from holidays and cultural festivals to honoring heroes or marking the beginning of a special season.
