A Valencia treasure. Paella comes from a region in Spain called the Valencian Community, and it's so special to the people there that it's become one of the symbols of their culture and identity.

Rice as the star. The main ingredient in paella is rice, which is cooked together with vegetables, seafood, or meat, and flavored with saffron, a golden spice that gives it a beautiful color and unique taste.

Known worldwide. Paella is one of the most famous Spanish dishes in the whole world, and people from many countries have learned to make it and love eating it.

Cooked in a pan. Paella gets its name from the wide, shallow pan it's traditionally cooked in, which helps the rice cook evenly and get a slightly crispy bottom layer.
