Eight amazing arms. An octopus has eight limbs surrounding a beaked mouth right in the center. There are around 300 different species swimming in the oceans!

Brilliant brains. Octopuses have a complex nervous system and are among the smartest invertebrates (animals without backbones) on Earth.

Squeeze artist. Because their bodies are soft with no bones, an octopus can deform its shape and squeeze through tiny gaps.

Jet propulsion. It uses a special tube called a siphon to breathe and to shoot water, pushing itself backwards as it swims.

Sharp eyes. Octopuses have excellent eyesight and belong to the cephalopod family, along with squid, cuttlefish, and nautiluses.
