Soldier to emperor. Napoleon started as a general during the French Revolution and crowned himself Emperor of the French in 1804.

Famous battles. He led many military campaigns across Europe and even the Middle East, becoming one of history's most famous commanders.

Big rule-maker. He created legal and administrative reforms, like the Napoleonic Code, that shaped laws in France and beyond.

Comeback try. After giving up power in 1814, he briefly returned during a period called the Hundred Days in 1815.
