Home to Ancient Wonders. Jordan is where you can find Petra, one of the most amazing carved stone cities in the world, plus the Dead Sea which is the lowest point on Earth's surface. These incredible places have been important to human history for thousands of years.

The Dead Sea is Super Salty. The Dead Sea is so salty that people float easily in it without even trying to swim. This special lake sits right on Jordan's western border and is famous around the world for its unusual waters.

Desert and Mountains Meet. Most of Jordan is covered by desert, but the country also has beautiful mountains and a small area of coastline on the Red Sea. This mix of landscapes makes Jordan really unique in the Middle East.

Crossroads of Continents. Jordan sits in a special location where Asia, Africa, and Europe are all relatively close by, which is why it has been a meeting place for cultures and traders for thousands of years.

Capital City of Amman. Amman, Jordan's capital, is the biggest city in the entire Levant region and sits on hills overlooking the Jordan Valley. It is a modern city built on top of ancient ruins.
