A massive landmass. The Iberian Peninsula is one of Europe's largest peninsulas, sticking out into the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It covers about 583,000 square kilometers, which is roughly the size of France.
Mountains everywhere. The peninsula is very mountainous with major ranges like the Pyrenees marking its border with France. These tall mountains have shaped the people, cultures, and history of the region for thousands of years.
Four nations share it. Spain takes up most of the Iberian Peninsula, but Portugal occupies the western part, and France and Andorra sit in the northern edges. This makes it a fascinating blend of different European cultures and languages.
